PHILIPPINE CHUNG HUA SCHOOL INC.

Philippine Chung Hua School (PCHS) was founded by Mr. Agustin N. Tanco originally located at G. Tuazon Street, near the corner of M. Arenas in Sampaloc, Manila. It was later registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in March, 1968, having a foresight on the future needs of school and determination to enhance its endeavor in the field of education for the years to come, the founder was able to purchase a lot and built with it currently settled at 3217 Reposo Street, Sta. Mesa, Manila.  Through the founder’s effort, he had pooled together the financial contributions from the members and trustees of the school and some civic-minded people of the Filipino-Chinese community to become what it is made up today, three buildings of two, three & four story school consisting of various facilities such as Administration and Registrar Office, Finance Department,  Teacher’s Lounge, Clinic, Guidance Counsellor Area, PTA & Alumni room, Playroom for pre-nursery, Canteen, Computer Laboratory, Science Laboratory, Audio Visual Room, TLE Room, Basketball court which can be use on badminton and volleyball games, Classrooms for Kindergarten, Grade school, Junior High & Senior High (all air-conditioned).

PCHS envisions in the near future having a Multipurpose Hall located at the 4th floor of the main building. This will include a gymnasium for indoor sports such as basketball, volleyball, wushu (karate) and an auditorium for school performances/events.  The school quadrangle will be converted into a parking space to accommodate guests/clients. And the canteen will be renovated to house our School Kitchen where students can cook nutritious food and sell them to the students, parents, teachers of Philippine Chung Hua School.   

The school has been educating children and offers assiduous academics and a caring, values-based atmosphere for students in grades Pre-K to 12th. They are held to high academic performance and moral standards. Faculty and staff are committed and dedicated to providing students with a safe and secure surrounding in which learners can grow vigorously. We also welcome and respect learners of different faiths, as their heterogeneity hone our community.

The school offered various types of scholarships, especially to deserving students. Students who studied from the school with 1st to 3rd honors get a discount from their tuition fees. Those who studied from 7th to 12th grade in PCHS have the privilege to study for free in STI – Mandaluyong of any course offered by the Tanco Foundation Inc., but grades must be maintained through consistent individual achievement. Under the voucher program, all Junior High (Grade 10) completers may qualify if they meet the voucher program requirements.

Philippine Chung Hua School Inc. is the only school in the heart of Sta. Mesa, Manila who offers English as well as Chinese subjects. In lieu of the country’s current situation brought about by COVID-19, Philippine Chung Hua School Inc. continue in giving its educational services throughout the community.
